Y’all know I’m taking a break from my blog right now, but how can I resist this special day in a cowboy lover’s life? Please bear with me if you’ve already read this. I don’t expect you to read it again, but I hope my new followers and visitors enjoy it. There are some updated pictures, and I added and revised the big picture at the bottom. Yes, this is straight out promotion on my part. 🤠 😍
So, folks, here we are with another go-round of National Day of the cowboy! My youngest son texted me this morning to remind me. How sweet of him. I just know he’s a cowboy at heart.
My oldest son is in the midst of the Carr Fire in Redding, California, and as of eleven-thirty last night, he hadn’t been evacuated yet, but he was ready with his truck packed and his cat in the carrier.
It’s hard to carry on today knowing that at any minute he could lose everything, but this is my job and I have to keep at it. He wouldn’t want it any other way. If you’re the praying kind, a few prayers for not only him, but for all those who are in harm’s way in these awful fires. The Carr fire is being called unprecedented. It has no pattern, and they’ve even seen what they’re calling firenados which is quite scary to witness in videos let alone in person. At last report I heard, the fire was 3% contained.
Now on to my Reblogged post.

National Day of the Cowboy
One thing after another keeps happening in my life, and I’ve been under so much stress lately, so today I am doing something for FUN. Today, Saturday July 22, 2017, 2018 is National Day of the Cowboy. You know I’m jumping on this! Ha, so funny. Here we are two years later and I can say the same thing this year!
#NationalDayOfTheCowboy
I’m learned a few things since I began writing contemporary western romance. This is my take on the cowboy. Remember, MY take may not be the same as yours. Maybe I’m dealing with fiction today, but a whole lot isn’t. Let me have some fun with this. All of the images used today are from Pixabay except for Jimmy Thomas, which comes from Romance Novel Covers. Tristan and Nora and Jake and Beth come from Period Images. I created…

Oh, Mary, prayers for your son. I hope he doesn’t have to leave and his home is safe. The fires this summer are so frightening… all over the world. I hope you enjoy National Cowboy Day with all your loved ones safe and sound.

Thank you, Diana. The fires around the world are all as devastating and truly frightening. As of last night, he hadn’t been evacuated, and there is no text this morning saying he left. They’re expecting the winds to become heavier over the next couple days and it continues to spread. I’m not sure when he’ll be able to go back to work, either. Much of his work can be done at home, but there is so much of it that can’t. The fire is still very unpredictable. I’m thankful the local news station is carrying live feeds, but even they were evacuated the other night. On the bright side, I will always enjoy National Cowboy Day. Thank you for visiting.

Thanks, Teagan. It’s very scary. Still evacuating certain places as we speak. Not him.

Thanks about my son, Mary Ann, and, well, we might as well say the state of CA and all the other places on fire. This Carr Fire is so different. I just listened to a press conference with the firefighters talking about how fierce and unpredictable this fire is. They can’t read it like they do many fires.
I’m glad you liked the post. I tried to cover it all. ❤
