Week 47: Worth Bragging About
Wow, we’re moving right along in 2018. It’s the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S.A., and today is Black Friday! Is anyone home to read this post? This topic is similar to a topic from last November. As much as I hate bragging about myself, topics like this force me out of my comfort zone, so I do have a few updates I might be able to boast over a little. Let’s do it!
Book Related:
Since last November, I’ve published two books in the same series. I talked about these two as WIPs in last years post.
Now, I have two more books started. One of my WIPs is in collaboration with a lot of other authors. Joining this group is something to brag about. You’ll see later when we start talking about this new endeavor.
I started AMS Ads for three books. Yeah, I have to brag after being so terrified to try. (comfort zone)
Home on the Range:
Oh, I searched for my big girl panties and found them and pulled up my bootstraps, then I got out of the stressful environment I had been living in. I moved to give myself peace of mind. It took a big step in moving to the new place, too, but perseverance and prayers helped. After weighing the pros and cons, I made the final, right decision–that’s my brag.
Due to health issues at the beginning of the year, I went back to walking and gave up eating things that are bad for my condition like red meat, fat, and sugar. It’s funny how easy it becomes once your life is in danger. I’ve lost thirty-two pounds, but I see other improvements besides weight loss. I’m not sure how much it has reversed my diagnosis, yet. Yeah, this is me bragging about my life-style change.
This is my eleventh year of blogging. I’m far from becoming a top-notch blogger, but hey, it’s eleven years of sticking to it.
Of course, like any mom, I am proud of what my kids have accomplished in their lives to date, but this is a brag that goes without saying. ❤
Thanks for reading. Please check out the other authors in the Blog Hop.

Eleven years of consistent blogging is indeed an achievement. Kudos! I also applaud you for taking the steps needed to improve your health. I could use some of that perseverance.

Mary, it didn’t feel like you were bragging, but maybe that’s just because I’m proud of you. 😉
A TV show so old that I barely remember it had a line that comes to mind (that’s about all I remember of the show — I was really young) “No brag — just fact.”
Great big hug!

I like that: “No brag–just fact.” I’ll try to remember that. 🙂 Thanks, Teagan!

I like the bragging, Mary. And why not? Goodness, it’s not like any of it came easy. You had to put in the time, energy, and commitment in each case. So cheers to you! 🙂

That’s what I told myself when I started the post, Diana. No, none of it comes easy. I should’ve mentioned the fantastic reviews I’ve received on my last two new releases. Doh! I just did. Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend.

Definitely kudos to you, too, and thanks. Once a decision is made, it’s much easier to move forward instead of stressing. Well, new stresses. Haha. Thanks for visiting!

Congrats on all your accomplishments, Mary! Are you seeing any sales from your AMS ads? I’ve been meaning to give them a try, as well.

Thanks, Jacquie. Yes, but AMS Ads is a job in itself. I find the numbers on my ads stats page to be very low, but when I see the sales, I know they are working, so don’t only go by what you see there, and this is advice I’ve read in more than one place.
Do your research first and compile a list of keywords. You can have up to 1000. I use “Custom Text” and you have 120 characters to write a hook if you want to. Click on one of your own book pages and see what the sponsored ads look like beneath your description.
Mark Dawson has a free book that will help get you set up and started.
I’m still learning though. I have used Yasiv.com “Books” to find keywords. You can use author names and book titles. There are other ways too you’ll find through researching.
This comment feels like a blog post in itself. Haha.

Thank you so much, Ed. It was easy at first, but with the year nearly over, I find it’s more difficult. I have to keep the goal in mind…being healthy.
