Update:
Some of you know I’ve been taking a break to let my eyes rest. I’m happy to say they are showing a bit of improvement. Giving them time away from hours of looking at the computer has helped, but my time at the screen is still limited. I’ve been able to spend a small amount of time each day working on one book while gearing up to format my upcoming book. In a nutshell, I have dry-eyes and macular degeneration, so I won’t take a chance with my eyesight.
As much as I wanted Judy’s book, the fifth book in the Double Dutch Ranch Series: Love at First Sight to be released in May, it isn’t going to happen. Book five takes place three years after book four ends.
By the way, Cowboy Boss and his Destiny, book one in the Double Dutch Ranch Series is $0.99 cents. This is the new and revised edition–shortened A LOT yet combined with what used to be book 1.5. Not a bad deal for a book that begins a series where you’ll get to know the whole family including Judy, the ranch matriarch, who binds them all together. Welcome to the Double Dutch Ranch where no one is a stranger at their table.
I’m grateful for any change for the better to my eyes and for time I can spend working on my books. However, I won’t push it.
Thankfully, my Kindle reads to me, so I’m able to enjoy books written by other authors without having to stare at the screen. It’s a pleasant distraction, indeed.
Thanks for your patience.
On top of dealing with my eyesight and the pressure and stress on myself for NOT publishing a book, I was forced to enter a grocery store because of items I NEEDED and couldn’t get with my pick up order. That isn’t all. I HAD TO OPEN UP MY SAFE SPACE to maintenance when I developed a leak in my bathtub. I figured it would be a one-time thing, but after four visits, he still couldn’t fix the problem. This also means he had to go into my bedroom closet to access the pipes.
As my mom would say, “Things don’t run on an even keel all the time.” Something like that. Well, Mom, you were right!
We’re all in this together.
Enjoy your weekend, my friends.
P.S. I didn’t even mention the fact WordPress is changing its editor on June 1st, so now it’s one more thing I don’t have the time or patience to learn. Even though some of you said the new Block Editor was simple, I don’t agree. I looked at it for five minutes and said screw it. Now, it seems I have no choice. On a positive note, the old editor will still be available, but I rarely use it, instead choosing to go into the dashboard and use the old, old editor. What do I do? Use my limited time on the computer to publish a book or learn something I don’t want to learn? The answer is simple.
Signing off for now…

I’m sorry you have your space invaded. I hope your eyes get better. Dry eyes suck. I need new glasses but the dr keeps saying we need to wait for my allergy to get better yeah when lol.
Oh no I do not want to deal with a new WordPress.

Thanks, Cathy. I hope the allergy situation improves. Check the link in my comments to read about the change in WordPress. One of the old ones is still available so they say. I’m afraid to look today.

I’m glad you’re resting your eyes, Mary. Just go at a comfortable pace and don’t push it.
Cowboy Boss is such a wonderful story. I hope your offer brings lots of new readers.
Plumbing problems are the worst — even under ordinary circumstances. I understand how upsetting that is for you. Ugh! Take good care of you. Hugs on the wing!

I’m grateful for each day and looking at everything positively, but I still can’t decide if I will let it drip until… Will this ever be over? Sigh. Thanks, Teagan.

Take care of your eyes now, eh? Otherwise you’ll have to write using Dragon speech recognition, and I hate doing that. It’s even worse than learning a new WordPress editor.

I will, Ed. I would dread using speech recognition for writing, and who would check the work at that point? Ugh, it’d be one more learning curve on top of many others.

I’m glad your eyes are doing better with rest, Mary. Yes, take good care of them. And I’m sorry that your safe space is being invaded. It’s distressing when people don’t take precautions that might protect others.
And what!!!? Is the old, old editor going away? I still use that one too. I’m going to have to take a month off to figure out the new one…this old dog doesn’t do new tricks. Lol. Why do they have to mess with it now while the world is falling apart? Sigh. Be well, my friend. ❤

Doggone it. I wrote a long comment on the mobile site, but it must be floating in cyberspace. Anyway, Thank you, Diana. I’m still worried about my eyes but hopeful. I feel the same way as you about the new editor coming. I found the link, which is actually posted in our Dashboard under What’s New, I think. I added the link in a separate comment here. Then I’ll reread the post to see if I know what I’m talking about. Kind of typical of me these days. Happy reading. Stay safe.

I’ll look at the “what’s new” and see what’s up. Ugh. I don’t want to have to learn something new right now. Thanks for the heads-up!
