#AmWriting For Fun:
National Day of the Cowboy is coming up tomorrow, July 23, 2022. How can a cowboy lover resist a special day? Tomorrow’s post has been published before, but this time I copied the post instead of Reblogging it. Nah, longtime readers and friends, you don’t have to read it again, but I have updated it and added a couple of new links about the day, involving activities, and a bit of history. They’re informative websites and worth visiting.
Okay, so I could write a new post about the National Day of the Cowboy, but to be honest, I don’t know if I could write a better post. I’ve always loved cowboys, and I feel like I know enough to give my take on the guys. (Girls and women can be cowboys too.) Expect fiction sprinkled with facts. In addition, in tomorrow’s post, what kind of author would I be if I didn’t include a few of my cowboy covers on books filled with stories from my heart?
Regardless, I think I was destined to write cowboys and cowgals falling in love. As a little girl, I had cowboy pajamas and cowboy-boot-slippers with pictures to prove it. My brother had some too, so mine were probably boy PJs. Oh, my brother and I also had play guns and holsters. I was a tomboy all the way.
Once as a young girl in elementary school, a guy came around our neighborhood with a pony, offering pictures for money. I begged my dad so hard to let me get on that pony and have my picture taken. Of course, my little brother had to get in his two-cents and got his own picture. Maybe it all started in the early years. Who knows?
I hope you visit again tomorrow to read MY TAKE on the cowboy on their special day.
