Mary J McCoy-Dressel, Blog Post New Release Bull Rider Series Boxed Set

šŸ’• Announcing My Newest Release šŸ’•

      Bull Rider Series Boxed Set

I’m sorry to say the Boxed Set is unavailable for now. The individual books ARE available.

When you have an adrenaline-charged bull rider, then mix in a classy, feisty Italian photographer, sparks will fly…and sizzle.

Caulder McCutchen, our hero in this three-book series to date, hires photographer Velia Armano to follow him on the circuit in a sport that won’t let him go. Come along with them as they chase after the coveted gold buckle.

Journey with them through romance and passion and danger and excitement. Through the sad times—their worst times. The happy times—their best times. With the last buck off of the season, retirement looms closer, but will Caulder hang up his spurs and accept that chasing gold buckles can’t last forever?

      Boxed Set Cover for Apple.

      Includes Three Full-Length Novels

      Howdy, Ma’am #1

Six months into Velia Armano’s well-ordered life alone, bull rider Caulder McCutchen saunters in with his howdy, ma’am and flame-blue eyes, offering a job any photographer would find hard to refuse—to travel the circuit with him for a season and photograph a year in his life.Ā On the journey, they discover they both have their own obstacles to overcome. Staying out of each other’s arms is only one of them. When the season ends, who wins the real prize?

Review: A contemporary western peppered with heart, heat, excitement and drama. Amazon Reviewer

      Hey, Cowboy #2

A break in the season finds Velia Armano and Caulder McCutchen back in Tucson, Arizona. Family, friends, and rowdy cowboys are brought together to share in their joy…and sometimes their pain. The last year with Caulder has given her trust and strength like she’s never known. But, her strength is weakened. Enemies harbor a vendetta against her and her family…and anyone who gets in their way. Caulder vows to protect Velia, yet little does he know the lengths he must go. He learns that sometimes a hero has to prove he is one.

Review:Ā I recommend reading this in order of the book series. I love Velia using her Italian language in both books. Also Caulder being strong but gentle at the same time. These two show what passion they have not only in each other but in their interest as well. I enjoyed how they brought both families together. I can not wait for the next book in this series. Amazon Reviewer

Christmas at Love House: A Bittersweet Interlude #3

Four years later, Velia and Caulder finish up another year of bull riding. They settle into their comfy abode on the McCutchen Ranch in the snowy Allegheny Mountains to celebrate the Christmas season with a houseful of guests. La vita ĆØ bella! But why does their happily-ever-after have to come with an expiration date? Without warning, their most chilling nightmare comes true. A misunderstanding, and a startling realization discovered too late—puts their contented little family at risk.

Review: The plot was well done and the love of his family for the best future. The author captures your imagination and runs with it happily to the end. Amazon Reviewer

This boxed set came out of the blue. It had been on my mind for a couple years, but I wasn’t all that serious about it. While waiting on my upcoming new release, which is still with the editor, I figured it had been long enough without a new release. As if I didn’t have enough to do with moving and packing and working on a brand-new book, I couldn’t think of a better time to put together this boxed set.

Everything else fell in line like lining up my formatter and cover designer and figuring out exactly how to create a boxed set. It wasn’t as easy as it sounds, but here we are. You can find the same thing as above on the Bull Rider Series Page Here, but I wanted to do this announcement up right and the page will remain while this post will eventually get lost in the shuffle. You can read longer blurbs on the Bull Rider Series page with the individual books. šŸ¤ šŸ‚

Look what I’m back with on Saturday! I know it’s been a long time. Today I bring you a snippet from Ā© Whispers of Forever. Of course, right? Ā  ā¤ļø

      From Chapter Four: (slightly modified)

With everything fine at home,Ā Beth got in her car and drove the same way she used to drive once she got her license. Outside his ranch, she studied the signposts that led up the driveway. Stretched across the top in large lettering, it said: JL Ranch atop a smaller sign that read Lawton Ranching Supplies. He used to talk about leaving this small town and never coming back. She was proud that he stayed and made a name for himself. Jake had always had the drive to succeed. Dust hadn’t yet settled on the road. Maybe he had arrived this minute himself.

Driving up the road, she was amazed at what he had done. He took an old house and made it appear brand new—even the front facing had been redone, plus he’d added a large porch. A lump caught in her throat. As she glanced to the right, there sat a small barn, but through a clearing between that and the main house, she spotted the old, red barn—the paint no longer faded. Her throat tightened, trying to push a lump down. ā€œHe kept it.ā€

mary j mccoy-dressel, western romanceThe front door opened. Jake pushed the screen then skipped down the steps to her car. ā€œBeth. Wow. What are you doing here? I mean, I’m glad you’re here, but… You found my place.ā€ He turned to look back at the house.

What had she been thinking? She lifted her palms to her cheeks. ā€œI’m sorry I should’ve called.ā€

ā€œNo, well, my wife is leaving later tonight, and she came to see Trace. The last farewell for a while so to speak, I guess. The boyfriend is waiting for her at her condo. They’re flying out in his little piss-ass plane.” Jake backed up, and his hands sliced through the air. “I can’t believe she actually took my son up in it. I’m sorry, that got away from me. I’m still trying to wrap my head around it all while behaving like a sane person instead of a maniac.ā€

ā€œTrace?ā€ She peered up into his puppy dog eyes and smiled, saying softly, ā€œYou named your son Trace?ā€

Jake grinned. ā€œYou remembered. Yeah, I named my first kid Trace J. Just an initial. Sometimes I call him T.J.ā€

ā€œOf course I remember. The name we had picked out for our firstā€¦ā€ She had to get out of there. He never forgot. ā€œI’m leaving. Go have dinner.ā€ Beth put her car in reverse.

ā€œWait, Beth. Can you come back tonight?ā€

ā€œUmm, I don’t know.ā€ Her heart beat as fast as baby bird wings flapped. Her palms sweat. ā€œI don’t know. I’ll call first if I do.ā€

ā€œThat’s not necessary.ā€ Jake put his hand on her shoulder. ā€œCome back tonight. I’d love to talk—spend some timeā€¦ā€ He backed away as she removed her foot from the brake. ā€œI never forgot us, Beth.ā€

Omigod. Omigod. ā€œI’ll call you.ā€ When she backed up, the screen door opened, and his son came out onto the porch. What a memory. It was like Jake had done the last day she had been here.Ā Stop staring. Hit the gas pedal! He had stood there not wanting her to leave—his dad holding him back. But, now she was home. ā€œBye, Jake.ā€ Tears burned in the back of her eyes. What had she started now? Longing for him only made the sight of him harder to bear.

Hey, Everybody! I hope you enjoyed the snippet, which is a little longer than my normal “short” snippets. This is from my brand-new release, which I recentlyĀ  announced to the public. I personally love this scene, but I’ve been in Beth and Jake’s head and they’ve been in mineĀ for over a year now, so I’m kind of sentimental. I hope the world is kindĀ to them.Ā Ā  ā¤

      All y’all enjoy your weekend.

This song reminds me of my Jake and Beth. Writing the end of a book is bittersweet for me. I miss them. When I listen to this video, I smile because I know their story, and I’m sad because I know their story. (Country music ahead.) Ā šŸ™‚Ā Thanks for stopping by.

      Posted at 7:01 am by Mary J. McCoy-Dressel, on November 24, 2016

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, my American friends, and a happy weekend to all.

Just a note to say how thankful I am for all of you. Thanks for being here.

I thought this quote was fitting.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. ~Melody Beattie

However, one last malicious act his wife had done before leaving them, could affect both he and his son’s lives. By chance, he runs into his high school sweetheart, never expecting the same old yearnings to return with one ā€œHow are ya?ā€ embrace. Has their unanticipated meeting arrived at the perfect time, or has years apart put an end to what should’ve been years ago?

Sparks ignite before they say hello, but how do they start over when life has left them so bruised? When her ex comes to town, she’s forced to explain the secret surrounding her short-lived marriage. Is Jake the kind of man who will understand, or will he revert to the hell-raiser he had become when Beth left thirteen years ago?
