What is this book about? Oh, I’m so glad you asked…

Jase made his first appearance in Cowboy Boss and his Destiny. He’s the oldest brother at the Double Dutch Ranch, and he has a story to tell.

      • Tagline: Sometimes a wrong turn takes you to the right place.

Rancher Jase Carlson doesn’t understand the ache in the hollow of his chest, since his ex-wife ripped his heart out. She doesn’t follow the court rules where his children are concerned, making him even more pissed off. Harboring a bad attitude, he wishes he wasn’t a gentleman when he comes to the aid of a hot-headed, sexy blonde. He can’t allow her tight jeans and sweet smile to sway him, even after he’s coerced into spending time alone with her. If only he can remember that when he holds her in his arms.

Brenna Page has too many of her own issues to deal with at the moment. Not to mention being guardian to her rebellious sixteen-year-old sister, and both of them are living with painful memories. The last thing she needs is a grudge-filled cowboy interfering in her life, but his intense blue eyes and muscles-to-die-for, say something she’s never heard before.

      • Set-up: Brenna and Jase have a few extra minutes before her sister returns.

Brenna nodded and went into the room ahead of him. This time his bed was made and the room was bright. Jase removed his boots and crawled into the middle of his bed, holding his arms open. She kicked her shoes off and lay beside him.

He pulled her close, tight up against his body and held her. She relaxed in his arms, yet, a part of her wanted to draw away. At least the shuddering was only on the inside. “You’re amazing, Jase…your touch, smell, everything about you. I can’t wait to know all about you.”

“Baby, you can’t wait? Come inside my body and see the torturous battle going on.”

“Mmm, I’ve fallen so hard for you.” She slipped her arm around his waist. “Please explain how this happened.”

“I wish I could.” He nuzzled his face against her hair. “Let me hold you and dream.”

Brenna whispered, “I want to be in your dream, doing things I’ve only imagined.”

“You’re in it. It’s all about you.” Jase lowered his voice. “It’s you and me making love in my dream. Join me for now in the dream world. See it in your mind’s eye first.”

She cuddled closer. “Describe it to me.”

    • If This Wasn’t Love… MFRWHooks Meme Hey, Cowboy, Bk 2

      Posted at 7:45 am by Mary J. McCoy-Dressel, on July 16, 2014

      It’s time for #MFRWHooks

d76e0-logobookhooksYes, I’m here to hook you. It won’t hurt, I promise.

Hey, Cowboy, Bk #2 (Bull Rider Series)

I can’t call this a WIP anymore. It will be on the way to the formatter shortly.

      No explanation needed…

      low resolutionBlurb

Velia and Caulder are back in the compelling and emotional sequel to Howdy, Ma’am.

In Hey, Cowboy, a break in the season finds Velia Armano and Caulder McCutchen back in Tucson, Arizona. Family, friends, and rowdy cowboys are brought together to share in their joy…and sometimes their pain.

The last year with Caulder has given her trust and strength like she’s never known. But, her strength is weakened. Enemies harbor a vendetta against her and her family…and anyone who gets in their way.

Caulder vows to protect Velia, yet little does he know the lengths he’ll have to go— He learns that sometimes a hero has to prove he is one.

He’d like to give her the world, be the man she needs, but an injury during break threatens his career. How can he give her everything when his future hangs in the balance?

All they ask for is a peaceful life together—and their happily ever after. Happiness is within reach if their burning love is strong enough to overcome enemies plotting against Velia’s family—and a possible career-ending injury for Caulder.

Come along and see what happens when the feisty Italian takes a longer ride with the rowdy bull rider.

    • Ok, Why I’m Sick of Winter ~ Thursday 13 Reboot

      Posted at 9:19 am by Mary J. McCoy-Dressel, on February 6, 2014

I’ve been away from Thursday 13 for a long, long time. I think about it when I see other postings for it on Twitter. Here we are now in January 2023, I’m using “Press This” to have a little fun with a reboot since this post was originally published 2014.

      Why I’m Sick of Winter:

      1.  For the season: 67.9 inches of snow. This is was a record in Detroit. It’s snowing now, again, after eight inches yesterday. UPDATE: It’s been snowing on and off (mostly on) for seven of eight days so far – January 2023.
      2. Below zero temperatures. Records were broken here, too. Update: You guessed it. New records were broken- January 2023.
      3. I can drive my new car, but I don’t in bad weather. Thirty minutes ago my son dug out someone who was out on the road. I don’t want it to be me. Update: This son moved out of state, so I’d have to help myself  – January 2023.
      4. I can’t see the cool color of my car when covered with snow. The paint changes between three colors. I love it! Update: I no longer have that car, but my current car has a cool color too.
      5. In one day: snow, rain, sleet, ice, snow, and wind. Okay, so this is typical for Michigan. Update: In one day, snow, rain, sleet, ice, snow, and wind – January 2023 in Michigan.
      6. I’m wearing gloves…inside. (While I type) Update: I’m wearing gloves – January 2023.
      7. Three layers of shirts plus a hoodie. Update: In my current apartment, I don’t need four layers of clothes  – January2023.
      8. Pushing a grocery cart through the parking lot? Update: Yawn. Yep – 2023, but I’ve played it smart and go when snow has been plowed. I’m not getting any younger you know.
      9. Trudging to the mailbox. Update: Mailboxes are inside our apartment buildings here! All I have to do is walk up and down a flight of stairs  – January 2023.
      10. Getting snow balls off my dog’s paws. Okay, I’m being picky here. LOL, she does it herself. Update: My dog crossed the Rainbow Bridge some years ago. 😥
      11. My oldest son invited me to California. I didn’t go. Update: Doggone! I didn’t go – January 2023.
      12. Salt on my car when I go out. But, I’m not complaining because it keeps the road from being slick. (When the temperature is warn enough, that is.)
      13. I’ll end this list on a positive note: Snow is beautiful when it first comes down. To those of you who love snow, I give you a big pat on the back. Enjoy. So you know—I could probably come up with a positive for most of these negatives. I like to live more in the positive than negative anyway.

You can find some of my old 13’s by typing Thursday Thirteen in the search box in the sidebar or toward bottom on a mobile phone.

Get the Thursday Thirteen code here! The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others’ comments. It’s easy, and fun! Update: This link no longer works – January 2023.
