      Mary J McCoy-Dressel, Bull Rider Series new cover, western romance

      Today, I bring you seven sentences from Book #2 in the Bull Rider Series. A special moment is shared. Well, to Velia, there are many special moments with her cowboy. This one happens to be Thanksgiving Eve and they’re surrounded by family.

      EXCERPT

      Velia waited until Caulder took a seat on the sofa then sat beside him, snuggling close enough to feel his body heat. He handed her a glass of wine and grasped her hand, smoothing his thumb over her skin.

      His touch—special, warm, but more than a physical heat—internal, too. Something about his touch electrified her soul, brought her to life.00015

      She leaned against him and placed her head on his shoulder for a moment, inhaling a whiff of his cologne and the man-scent of him after a full day. A rousing crawled over her body, loving emotions taking over—oblivious to anyone else in the room…but him. When tomorrow rolled around, she’d have a lot to be thankful for.

      Is it Saturday Already?

      I have another tidbit for #MySexySaturday! From my current release, Howdy, Ma’am

      Caulder’s heart had been devastated for the last two years…until he met her. Two years is a long time for a man to be alone… I chose this song to go along with this excerpt because it explains my hero. It also plays a role in the next book. So, when he’s standing at the door and his hot photographer says, “Hey, Cowboy?”, he’s going to listen.

      My feisty little Italian has it bad, too. In fact, her heart has…well, fallen hard for the cowboy.

      I give you seven paragraphs.

      (Sensual contemporary western romance/women’s fiction.)

      When Caulder came out to practice, wearing Wranglers and a shirt with the sleeves cut out, and pumped muscles filling her viewfinder, she almost choked on her own lust. “Focus, dammit!” He strutted around the arena like he owned each grain of sand. He went to every bull and talked to them. When he kneeled and came nose to nose with one big, ugly critter, she had it in her sights. She videotaped him around the horses, patting them on the back, and sliding his hand down their flanks. Like he slid his hand down my flank. “Focus, Velia.” She got him on video when he wandered to the other side of the arena. Yes, she got one fine part of him strolling away from her—his tight and toned, nice-looking, feel good arse. She stomped. “Why, dammit, why?” She let her camera dangle from the neck strap when she watched him walk into the stable.

      And she followed.

      She caught him inside the doorway. “Hey, cowboy?”

      When he turned toward her, he took a slow glance over her body, and she was aware of the longing in his eyes. She hurried to him and slid her arms around his neck. Her hungry lips found his, and she became captured in his arms. His lips answered her wanton need. She ran her fingers over his huge biceps then dug her nails into his back with anticipation when he walked her backwards toward the horse stall. He closed the half door and released her to the clean, fresh straw. They went to their knees, immediately embracing, staring into each other’s eyes as if a silent message rose between them, and they lay down in the straw.

      Caulder moved atop her, caressing her body with tender strokes. Straw picked through her thin shirt, but she didn’t care. She found his lips again, kissing with a vengeance, a need, a sexy want. She needed him! Wanted him. Darting her tongue between his lips, she loved when he suckled it like he would a candy sucker. He slid his hand under her and caressed her rear as she arched her hips, drawing him close by hooking her leg over his. The animalistic need she tried to hold back released itself and snared its prey.

      He unhooked the snap on her jeans and slid his hand lower, fingering his way past her silk panties. When he ran his fingers over her, she whispered against his lips. ‘Take me, Caulder, take me, per favore.”

      Velia shook as she slid down his zipper and submerged her hand inside his jeans…

      VisionsofEnchantment_SM.jpgGoodness! I had to dust off the cobwebs on this one. Today’s sexy seven comes from Visions of Enchantment a time-travel romance, book one in the Enchantment Series. The rights to this book have reverted back to me and I’ll be reissuing it sometime in the future. I keep getting distracted with writing about cowboys and their heroines.  I had planned on reissuing this earlier and had a cover made. This is the new one that will go up when I do get it published again.

      This excerpt is part of a dream Eryn has as she tries to put together the missing pieces of her life. Uriah…came through the confines of time to wait for her, and wait a little longer he must…until Eryn can remember him and their love. This dream gets her to thinking that maybe what he’s been telling her is true after all. I give you seven sentences. Wish it could have been more.

      ~~~
      The sun settled— glistening golden on the creek water. Uriah’s eyes were ablaze with lust when he straddled her thighs, laying her down beneath him. He tenderly placed sweet kisses against her cheek.
      Eryn gave an innocent smile and reached for him when  he peered into  her eyes—licking his lips in anticipation of what was to come. Pulling him closer, she arched her hips against him, yearning for a part of him she didn’t yet know. She pressed her lips softly against his while his fingers explored and caressed her womanly body. The sun dipped below the horizon, and in the velvet-purple twilight—a young lass became a woman and a lad became a man.
      He began again, using his fingers to probe, tickle, and stroke until she purred like a rebuilt, classic car motor. “Is that what you wanted? You didn’t tell me…I had to guess.”
      Velia whispered low, erratic. “You guessed…right.”
      “I’m going to do it again, but this time you’re free to let go. Let loose your screams, free your wild side…. ”
      Book #1 (Bull Rider Series)
      Book #1
      (Bull Rider Series)
      Oh, the dance. There’s something romantic and sexy about slow dancing. Holding someone close, inhaling their fragrance…bodies close. Today I chose seven paragraphs from my current release, Howdy, Ma’am Bk #1. Velia and Caulder have only known each other for a short time, but he understands the hell she’s been through. The attraction between them both is getting harder to deny. A sudden memory leaves her apprehensive…but a real hero comes to her rescue. I played the song, “One Day my Prince will Come”, over and over while writing this scene.
      “It’s hard to dance to this music. Not exactly what I’m used to,” she whispered, standing close enough to smell his cologne.
      Caulder spoke low. “Shh, close your eyes and follow my lead.”
      She succumbed to his embrace, resting her head against his chest, standing straighter to be nearer his shoulder. His scent enticed her closer, the same sultry fragrance he wore when they met. She closed her eyes and let him take her away in dance. She wanted to remain in this position, enjoyed being held. Could the others be right? She caught sight of her bare ring finger then straightened and moved her head from his shoulder. Although it was a good thing, and she wasn’t second-guessing anything, she still felt overwhelmed with the loss of a relationship. Albeit she had no love left for Justin, she mourned something. She couldn’t tell exactly what, but a feeling of loss lingered.
      “Everything okay?” Caulder held her tight around the waist and whispered close to her ear.
      “A sudden memory is all.” Velia leaned against him once again.
      “Have no fear tonight. Let me help you escape for a time.” He lowered his voice to a near whisper. “No ties, no bounds—one warm body to hold you on the dance floor is all. Enjoy it until it’s over.” Caulder squeezed her hand a little tighter and pulled her closer against him. “Let yourself go for now. Give yourself a sense of peace, even for a short time. I promise that’s all—let me show you some comfort…for tonight.”
      Velia relaxed when they played the next song— She let him hold and guide her in dance. He was right. No bindings, no ties, just a warm body to hold. She closed her eyes and held him tighter while they swayed to the music.
