When your heart speaks, take good notes. Judith Campbell
Maybe I’m not using this quote to mean what it was meant to say, but today I’ll use it to mean inspiration. Inspiration often strikes in the middle of the night. When my heart speaks, maybe I’m in the shower, driving, listening to music, or taking a walk. When an idea or scene comes, we can’t predict when it’ll happen, so be prepared to “take good notes.”
Do you have to write it down right away or speak it into a voice recorder on your phone or tablet? Yes, I sure have to. If not, I’ll have forgotten it by time I get up in the morning or get home. I’ve always had a notepad by my bed and carried a notepad (and camera) in my vehicle—even pulled into a parking lot to write down a few words to remind me of the idea. Have you, too? So, today, I’m using this quote by Judith Campbell for my Inspiration for the Muse.
What is your plan to capture a creative moment—“listen to your heart”? Whether it be a song lyric, a new recipe, a book title, a poem, or a sight to create the perfect photograph or painting. How do you “take good notes” to prevent an idea from becoming lost?
I hope y’all are having an excellent summer filled with friends, family, happiness, and fun in the sun. Don’t forget sunscreen. 🙂
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Heat, ma’am! it was so dreadful here, that I found there was nothing left for it but to take off my flesh and sit in my bones. ~Sydney Smith, Lady Holland’s Memoir
